Don't share your NIC number, home address, banking details, or one-time passwords (OTPs) with a match — even one you've been talking to for a while.
Verify before you trust
Look for the verified badge on profiles. Have a video call before agreeing to meet, and be cautious of profiles with only one photo or details that don't add up.
Never send money
MrKapu will never ask you to pay or send money on behalf of a match. Be wary of anyone who asks for financial help, loans, or expensive gifts — especially before you've met in person.
Meet in safe, public places
- Choose a public location for your first few meetings.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Arrange your own transport to and from the meeting.
Involve your family
Sri Lankan matrimonial traditions often involve family from an early stage. Once a match starts to feel serious, consider looping in parents or a guardian.
Report suspicious behaviour
Use the Report option on a profile or conversation, or reach out to our support team, if someone asks you for money, pressures you, or behaves inappropriately.
